28 weeks!

What a fun week we have had!  :)  This past weekend we drove down to Atlanta to watch my little sister walk across the stage and graduate from high school!  The trip down was rather exhausting because Coop was not in the best mood!  It had been almost a week since he had pooped and it was clearly hurting him!  Poor little fella's belly was so tight and hard!  I ended up riding in the back with him and just rubbing his belly until he fell asleep.  Despite his foul mood, we made great time getting down there and had a little bit of time to relax before the graduation festivities that evening.  Graduation was at 7:00 in their football stadium and it was about 112 degrees outside!  ok, maybe not that hot, but it sure felt like it when I was sitting there for 3 hours with a baby that constantly wanted to bounce on my legs!  Whew!  I sure got my workout that night!  He did GREAT!  I was so worried that the week with out pooping was all going to explode while we were at graduation....luckily it did not (he actually had the biggest, stinkiest, messiest, worst blow out in his 6 months of life the next morning after breakfast!)  Coop was SO good for the long graduation and only cried wailed once when the group behind us screamed for someone walking across the stage.  We were like 3 graduates from the end and it just scared the pop (thankfully, not literally) out of this so sleepy baby and he just cried!  Poor Nicole.....we were all waiting to cheer for her when he name was called and they skipped right over her!  so we thought "maybe she'll be next" nope....about 6 or 7 graduates later they slipped her in.  Of all the people to skip, it had to be her.....at least she'll never forget her graduation!  :)
After finding my sister in the crowd of caps and gowns, we took a few pictures and headed back to the house where family was gathering for food, gifts, and hanging out.  Cooper, however, returned to the house, said his hellos, took a bath, and went to bed!  it was a couple hours past bedtime for him by that point!
The next morning, like I mentioned, Cooper had his big poop-splosion!  it was NASTY but I was so glad because I knew he would feel better!  He literally went straight into the tub and his clothes went outside to be hosed off!  Maybe he should have gone straight outside to be hosed down too!  That day was a relaxing one.  We got a slip-n-slide from walmart and the kids played while we watched.  Cooper was not a fan of the cold water though! That night we had smores and just hung out.
Sunday My grandparents, Aunt and cousin's little girl, headed back home and the rest of is hung out.  We went to the mall to serach for shoes for my bother's wedding.  Both Nicole and I are in it and needed ivory shoes to wear.  Ivory is a much harder color to find that one would think!  I ended up finding a high heel that was super cute and Kristin and Carrington talked me into it!  I NEVER wear high heels because I'm already tall enough and this one is like 3 inches tall!  but it was just too cute....and the ONLY ivory shoe I could find!  My sister, however, would never wear a heel like that so we continued the search.  She found a dressy flip flop that would work but will have to get it from another location because they didn't have her size.  Successful trip, I'd say!
Monday morning we were planning to head back early but ended up staying and watching a movie and waiting for my dad to get home from work.  We hit the road around 4:30 and got home around 11:30.  The trip back was better then the trip down, until the last couple hours when Coop had just HAD ENOUGH of that stinkin carseat!  but we made it, and it was a great trip!
Tuesday was recovery day and yesterday was Cooper's 6 month check up!  Everything was great and he is developmentally right where he should be in all areas!  We can now start upping his solid intake and introduce some finger foods (like cheerios or puffs) and a sippy cup....this is where it will get reeeeeeal interesting!  :) he also got 2 shots yesterday and by bed time I think they were really bothering him.  One of them bled a lot, which has never happened, but he was just terribly restless the first hour or so after he went to bed.  I ended up giving him some Tylenol and he conked out!

At 28 weeks Cooper:
  • weighs 16 pounds and 15 ounces (seems small to me to be 6 1/2 months old but supposedly he's in the 50th percentile)
  • is 27 1/4 inches long (75th percentile) He did not like being stretched out and fought it hard core, so he may actually be a bit longer than this.
  • has a head circumference that is 43 cm (which is somewhere between 25th and 50th percentile according to the dr....he's just a little peanut!)
  • is laughing all the time!  It's so easy to get him to cackle now (as long as he's well rested and in a good humor)
  • sits like a pro!  he will sit for LONG periods of time playing with a toy....I'd say he's definitely got that mastered now!
  • is crawling more often now.  I've seen an actual crawl many times this week....I guess he's starting to transition from the frog hop to the actual crawl now.
  • LOVES the sound of anything crinkly!  He really loved the paper on the doctor's table yesterday...he had it thoroughly shreded by the time the dr got in to see him!
  • spent his first night in a cloth diaper all night and there were NO leaks!  yay!  The last several nights I have gotten him up from either sleeping all night or even just a nap, and he and the sheet are both wet!  I decided I was done with those stinky disposables that just leak out the top around his waist and figured I might as well try the cloth....if he leaked, oh well...nothing new!  :)  We made it all night last night....13 hours from the time the diaper went on until it came off....without a leak at all!  I think I'm over the fear of cloth diapering him a night now!  I had been afraid that he would leak since cloth needs to be changed more frequently and he sleeps so long, but I'm afraid no more!  :)
  • LOVES his mommy!  we are buds because we spend all day together....and he just thinks everything I do is great!  I'm not arguing!  ;)
  • LOVES his daddy!  He gets so happy when daddy comes home and loves for daddy to come talk to him, he just griiiiins!
  • is starting to show a little bit of stranger anxiety, which he did for the doctor.  She said it's absolutely developmentally appropriate for his age, however, I don't want him to get too clingy and fussy when someone "new" approaches.  I think him being at the YMCA while I'm working will help with that a little....at least I hope so!
  • loves shoving things in his mouth....mainly his bibs or burp cloths!  he just SHOVES them in there and lets them hang out....check out the doctor's office picture below for an example!  :)
  • gives the sweetest kisses!  So maybe they just consist of him opening his mouth and leaning in to your cheek, but then he pulls back and just grins...like he really thinks he's giving kisses!  it's so sweet (and maybe a little lot slobbery, but still so sweet!)
  • likes apples!  We tried some steamed and pureed apples this morning and he gobbled them right up!  So far we have a great eater on our hands!
  • sucks on his toes!  He has done this a time or two, but this week he has had that big toe in his mouth just sucking away several times!
  • is about to get kicked off the changing table!  He is almost too big and wiggly to be up there!  Every time I try to change him it's a battle amongst trying to distract him with a toy, trying to keep his kicking feet out of the dirty diaper, trying to keep him on the table...and on his back, AND trying to get a clean diaper on him and his clothes back on!  Whew, can we say exhausting!
  • loves peek-a-boo.  While we were in Atlanta, his aunt Sami was his peek-a-boo partner....he loved it and just grinned at her!
  • likes swinging!  We took his sassy seat doorway jumper with us to Atlanta and Nicole would pull him back and swing him in it, he LOVED it!  I'm thinking we will need to get a play set with a swing for our backyard!  :)
28 weeks and getting SO big!
first Memorial Day and he loves riding on Aunt Nicole's shoulders!

So happy, Daddy is coming over to talk to me!
Graduation
playing peek-a-boo in his "tent" on the ride back from Atlanta

27 weeks

Cooper is 27 weeks old now and has learned so much!  This week we spend the weekend in Wilmington for a soccer tournament.  The weather ended up not being as nice as we had anticipated it being, but it wasn’t terrible.  Unfortunately it was VERY windy and rather chilly on the beach so we didn’t get to spend much time out there.  Not to mention, the water was freezing!  :)  Coop did get to put his feet in the sand and his toes in the water for a brief moment though.  He seemed to enjoy both!  He danced those little feet around and splashed his feet in the water!  :)  I think we have a little fish on our hands, he loves bathtime and seems to love the water in general! We headed home On Sunday and Monday was a recover day!  Coop was very fussy on Monday, I’m certain it was because he was just plain ‘ol exhausted!  :)
This week was also soccer tryout for hubby’s team so we spent a couple afternoons out at the soccer fields.  Cooper is quite the little socialite, smiling at anyone who walks by…an an even bigger smile if they acknowledge him!  He’s such a ham!
This weekend we are headed to Atlanta for my sister’s high school graduation….when did she grow up enough to be going to college!?!?!  Come back next week to hear about our trip!

At 27 weeks Cooper:
  •   is becoming an expert sitter!  He can sit up by himself and play with a toy for extended periods of time!  The problem is that he’s SO active that he quickly sees something else worth getting and doing so he plops over and he’s off!
  •  is very mobile!  He’s ALMOST got the crawling thing figured out….a few times we’ve seen an actual crawl but most of the time it’s faster to hop!  :) He is a non-stop mover!  When I was holding him at the soccer field (because the stroller is just too boring!) he was ALL OVER THE PLACE!  It was almost all I could do to hold onto him!  A few of the soccer mom’s held him at various times this week and they also commented on how wiggly and active he is.
  • knows when he’s about to get some milk!  Maybe this is TMI but when I’m getting situated and ready to nurse him, he KNOWS what’s coming!  One night he was across the living room playing and I needed to feed him and get him to bed so I started to call him and clap my hands to see if he would come toward me.  He did!  However, halfway there he somehow lost course and was headed to daddy!  As I started to unhook the flap on my bra to get ready to nurse him, he quickly recognized that movement and was heading my way, HARD…and was very excited!  It was the cutest/funniest thing to see!  :)  No doubt he’s a baby that’s nursed
  • has tried peas and LOVES them….I actually don’t think there’s a food this kid doesn’t like….guess he’s like his daddy….he likes to eat!  :)  With the peas he didn’t even make a disapproving face with the first bite, he was just ready for more….like a little baby bird with his mouth open!
  • has officially discovered his laugh!  We have heard a laugh here and there, but this week he has been laughing at EVERYTHING!  He laughs at mommy and daddy, he laughs at Arnold, he laughs at peek-a-boo games, he laughs at bouncing on the bed, he is a very happy boy!  Check out the video below of the cutest sound ever (sorry it's sideways...I can't ever remember which way to turn the phone when I'm video taping)!
  • seems to recognize his name now!  When we call him from across the room, he will turn towards us.  Poor kid doesn’t have a chance…he hears his name all day long! :)
  • has definitely figured out the sassy seat doorway jumper!  He used to just hang out in it while I fixed dinner, but all of a sudden he seems to realize…oh, this thing is fun to jump in!  One night, while I was making his pea puree with my baby bullet (that I LOVE!), he was just bouncing away until he wore himself out!  :)
  • seems to be gassy when he naps….at least that’s what I think is going on.  Often when he’s napping he will “wake up” crying and arching his back and tensing up.  He never really opens his eyes but he’s not really sleeping either, it is definite gas movements, but it’s only when he’s napping; it doesn’t seem to bother him at night!?!?!
  •  has started to require that one of us stay in his room until he falls asleep.  A couple times this week when I have put him down before he’s quite ready to fall asleep he has watched me and if I turn to leave, he fusses.  If I sit in the glider he’s fine!  :)  He pops his little head up every now and then to check if I’m still there and eventually falls asleep.  Little stinker!
  •  likes playing with “trash” almost as much as his toys!  If there is a water bottle near by he’s going to do all he can to get hold of it (kind of like Arnold does! :) )  He really likes the crinkly sound an empty one makes!  His grandma also let him play with the newspapers this week! That was lots of fun!  Apparently I used to go through the magazine and spread them all over the floor when I was his age….I’ll have to find that picture, it’s similar to the one of him below!
Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!

mmm...water bottle

And newspaper!  yay!

Testing out the hotel bed in Wilmington

yep, it's good for nap!  :)

yay beach!

mmmm...peas!

maybe I left a little bit on this bib....

So silly!

26 weeks and 6 months old all in the same day!

So I'm a little lot late on this post...I helped my uncle cater all day on Thursday and didn't get a chance to type up this week's stats that day, and then Friday we left for Wilmington for a soccer tournament all weekend.  The last 4 days have flown by...where did they go!?!?  Anyway, Cooper is napping now, which is giving me time to type this up.  This week will be a little shorter because I've also got to do some laundry from the weekend while he naps (and perhaps squeeze in a shower too!)  :)   When he's awake, it's getting very hard to get anything done now that he's so mobile!  I have to constantly re-direct his path and keep him out of things!  :)  whew, life is about to get crazy around here!  :)

At 26 weeks Cooper:
  • does this frog hop type of "crawl."  He's not realyl crawlign but he gets both knees up under him and hops forward!  He definitely gets where he wants to go!
  • LOVES bananas! I think he would eat a whole one if  I would let him!  I usually can't get it mashed up fast enough for his liking!
  • is reaching out for people!  He reached toward daddy for him to hold him for the first time this week!
  • goes NON STOP all day!  he's getting a little better about napping...it's usually around 1:00 or so that he finally gives into it!  :)  but other than that....he's non stop movement all day long!
  • enjoys playing with Kenley!  Kenley is my cousin's little girl (she's 3) and he got to play with her on Wednesday while I helped my uncle get some things ready for Thursday's catering jobs.  Cooper came down to the restaurant for the first few hours with me and played in his exer-saucer while I worked and then my aunt and Kenley came to get him and he played with them for the rest of the afternoon.
  • still doesn't have any teeth but he's working hard on some!  His jaws are SO strong when he's gnawing on your fingers!
  • seems to have outgrown the reflux almost completely!  knock on wood!  His spit up seems to be a normal amount for any baby....and is often related to how much he has eaten....sometime the tank just gets over full and it has to come back out a little!  :)  Also, dairy in my diet doesn't seem to be affecting him at all anymore!  yay!
  • is 6 months old!  He "celebrated" (we didn't have a party or anything) his half birthday! Where in the WORLD have 6 months gone already!?!?!?!  time, please slow down!  :)
Come back next week (well...this week now)  for more updates and to hear about our trip to the beach!  :)

Happy 6 months of life little fella!
working on those kicking skill!  Daddy has him started young!
Thanks for stopping by!  :)

25 weeks!

ok, so I know that I say every week is busy but I believe this past weekend was our busiest weekend in the past 25 weeks!  Whew!  Where to start!

Friday, Meaghan came to hang out for part of the day!  We love having here here to play! It's always nice to have a conversation that is two sided and doesn't consist of babbles and gurgles!  :)  Today, Cooper also figured out how to do the "rock away!"  He gets up on his hands and knees now and rocks back and forth...it won't be long until we are crawling!
Saturday morning we headed to Winston early so that Carrington could help his dad with a mowing job.  While they did that I headed to my mom's to put together a baby shower gift for that night (I made a diaper wreath that turned out so cute....and I JUST realized I didn't even take a picture of it when it was finished!  :(  ) Around Noon we headed to a park in town for a big family reunion for Carrington's extended family.  i would say that Cooper was definitely the hit!  he was so well-behaved and got passed around a LOT!  I like for people to pass him around and hold him because it gets him used to other people and he won't be completely attached to me or Carrington. After the reunion, Carrington went to help a co-worker move some furniture (they are moving to Chicago and were giving their living room furniture to a friend).  We scored a grill out of it!  yay!  THEN we stopped by to see sweet Darby (the precious little girl of some great friends of ours!) and take her a gift for her 2nd birthday!  It was ALL Sesame Street themed...she LOVES her some Elmo!  :)  They were having a small party for her that night but we couldn't stay for it because we were then headed out to a baby "sprinkle" for a long time family friend.  I thought this term was completely made up....as in, not quite a shower....just a smaller sprinkle.  But it's actually a term used to refer to showers for 2nd (or more) time moms!  Who knew!?!?!  :)  Anyway, we had dinner and got to catch up with some friends we don't see often enough!  Cooper was able to play with his buddy Jackson, who is 8 days older.  They were so funny together! Again, Cooper was passed around all evening and did really well with it!  Needless to say, on our way home....Cooper realized that he had just HAD ENOUGH for the day and he screamed for about 15 minutes straight on our way home!  Poor little fella was just so tired and had such a big day; he held it in until he couldn't hold it in any longer and he just melted!
Sunday Cooper slept pretty late (thank goodness...he needed it!) and then we helped my mom make some food for my bother's wedding shower.  We then spent the afternoon at the shower.  I was (I guess) kind of the photographer of the event (I tried to get lots fo good pictures of them) so, again, Cooper was passed around.  My grnadparents were there so they got to spend some time with Cooper.  My cousin also has a little boy who is a couple months older than Cooper and they got to play together too.  They were cute together too!  I said, Cooper was getting lots of lessons on how to share this weekend!  :)  My grandma informed me that Cooper likes babies and that perhaps he needs a little sister!  yikes!  I told her that he was just going to have to wait a little longer on that one! whew....couldn't imagine another child right now!
Monday we were back at our house and it was a relaxing day!  We both (Coop and I) slept late and did absolutely NOTHING all day long!  :)
Tuesday was another uneventful day.
Wednesday we headed to Winston so that Carrington could help his dad again (although they ended up getting rained on and didn't get the job done....or even started for that matter! :)  it was definitely a dreary day!)  Cooper and I spent most of the day hanging out with Sara, her mom, and Darby.  Sara is pregnant with a little boy who is due July 23rd.  It was interesting to see Darby and how she felt about Cooper being there and wanting to play with her things....it will be interesting when there is a baby in her house all day!  :)  I also went to meet with the owner of a little shop in Lewisville.  They stock their store with handmade items that people sell on consignment there.  I'm so excited to have this consistent "income" in the very near future!  Wednesday evening we went to the church for a meeting about baby dedication this coming Sunday and then headed home.  Another late night for Cooper (he didn't get into bed until around 10:30!  yikes!).
That brings us to today....Cooper was up and at 'em at 7:30 this morning!  I'm so surprised that he was ready to go so early when he went to bed so late!  I was definitely NOT ready to go for the day! But, alas....I operate on his schedule! :)

At 25 weeks Cooper:
  • weighs 16.4 pounds, which is .2 less than last week....so I don't know if that's accurate.
  • is still about 27 1/2 inches long.
  • is SO close to crawling!  he does the rock back and forth and propells himself forward until he gets where he wants to go! Many times he has landed right on his nose, but it doesn't slow him down! If he sets his sights on something....he's going to get there somehow!  A few times I've seen him move one knee or one hand forward....he just hasn't quite gotten beyond one hand/knee moving.
  • is still doing to fake cough for attention....it's actually increased in frequency!
  • LOVES solid foods!  We started Sweet Potatoes yesterday and he loved them!  I think they may have given him gas though because last night was a very unsettled night....he kept crying out and scrunching his body up as though he was bothered by gas really badly.  Today he seems to be better, in that respect.  He had some more sweet potatoes at lunch time and this time he acted like he didn't love them as much.  I don't know if it's because they weren't as warm today, but a couple times he gagged a little bit but them opened his mouth for more!  we'll see if he's gassy tonight! :)
  • Loves being outside!  He really enjoys looking around at the world around him!  I love that I have a little boy that will love exploring the creeks and and woods and looking for critters and interesting things!  I can already tell he will be into EVERYTHING!  he'll probably come in with rocks in his pockets (if he's anything like his mama....I used to do that all the time!) and I'll probably wash them and hear them clanking around in the dryer.  He'll probably bring some creepy critter to show me and I'll have to act like it doesn't scare me.  He'll probably try some daring maneuvers (if he's like his daddy!) that will scare the poop out of me.....but I can't wait to embrace the special little adventurous boy that he will be....creepy critters, daring "tricks", rocks in his pockets, and all!
  • has discovered the bubbles in his bath water now!  Usually he just loves to lay in the water and relax while chewing on a toy, but occasionally he splashes his hands in the water and flicks the bubbles.  He's also gotten VERY interested in, and eager to help with, the shower head.  We have a removable shower head that I can stretch down to his little tub to fill it and rinse the bubbles off of him....he's now very quick to grab to cord and want to help.  He also loves it when I spray it on his belly! He sucks in because it tickles!  So cute!
  • has quite a bit of hair filling in where he lost a lot of it before.  It's so funny because since it's so short he just has a little bit of fuzzy hair starting to show up!  it's amazing how fast it's filling in!  Every day I think it looks thicker and thicker!
  • likes to play with my toes!  If I'm sitting in the chair and he's on the floor, he rolls and scoots until he gets to my feet and then proceeds to scratch at and grab my toes!
  • is FINALLY napping really well!  I hope I didn't just jinx it!  Monday he slept for 3 1/2 hours, Tuesday he slept for 2 1/2 hours, Wednesday we were out and about....so no nap, and today he's been asleep for an hour and 15 minutes so far!  (**update....before I finished this post, he woke up...slept for a total of and hour and a half**) I REALLY hope that this is starting to become habit!  It's so nice to be able to shower, eat, clean up a little, and get a few other things done while he sleeps.  Those things definitely don't happen while he's awake.....I'm too busy keeping him out of the fireplace, away from computer cords, out from under his swing, etc. etc!  I think we need to do some baby-proofing very soon!  :)  Maybe I pen to corral him in!  :)  haha!

24 weeks and yay for solid foods!

Cooper is 24 weeks old today, and this week we started solid foods!  well....solid-ish! Yesterday Cooper had his first taste of rice cereal!  It was mostly breast milk with a little bit of cereal mixed in just to get him used to the spoon concept.  He did really well!  the first couple spoonfuls he pushed it out with his tongue but he figured it out pretty quickly and was banging on his tray and reaching for more! I *almost* made the mistake of putting the bowl on his tray when he quickly showed me why that would be a bad idea and grabbed for it immediately.  Instead I held it below his tray and each time I would go to get another spoonful he would lean way over trying his best to see where the spoon went and if he was going to get any more!  :)  I definitely think he was ready to start the solids and I'm glad we waited until now to start him on them since it was such a successful experience!  We will probably continue doing just one feeding of rice cereal for a week and then start to try some real food...that's when the fun really begins!  :)

So a recap of the week...let's see....we actually got to spend a weekend at home this week!  yay!  We almost didn't know what to do with ourselves!  :)
Friday we headed to Winston because I helped cater an event that evening with my uncle.  Cooper stayed with my aunt and her grandgirly (who is adorable and so sweet!) They played until my mom got off work and she stopped by to pick him up until I was finished.  I think they all enjoyed playing with him for a little while...who wouldn't!?!?!  ;)  but maybe I'm biased!
Saturday was spring cleaning in the Dahmer house!  Carrington worked outside and mowed the yard, trimmed up some of the yard and plugged the yard to get ready to put down some more grass seed.  I cleaned the kitchen and both bathrooms from TOP to BOTTOM!  and dusted (way overdue) and vacuumed the living room!  It felt good to get things in order finally!  Cooper was really good all day and allowed us to do those things.  He also took a 2 hour nap! That evening we went to Greensboro to have dinner at one of Carrington's co-workers' homes with his family and a couple other families that he works with.  The are from China and had prepared an authentic Chinese meal that was delish!  it was SO much food!  And again, Cooper was SO good all evening!  He sat in my lap while we ate and hardly made a peep!  :)
Sunday we headed to Raleigh because Carrington was coaching a soccer game for one of the other Twins coaches who was overbooked and couldn't be in two places at once.  Luckily they won!  :)  It was a beautiful day to be out at the soccer field!  Coop played on a blanket for the first half and then decided that he was tired of soccer and napped for the second half!  We will have to work on his love for the game!  :)
This week Carrington also went back to 4 day work-weeks so that he can be home on Wednesdays.  We LOVED having him home with us yesterday!  We went for a walk at a nearby park (even Arnold got to go), watched the fish in the koi pond there, hunted for baby turtles, saw a box turtle along the path, watched daddy chop up some wood, checked on the roses on out rose bush, played with daddy on the floor, and daddy even got to feed him some of his rice cereal lunch!  I think we will all enjoy being able to have this time together each week!

At 24 weeks Cooper:
  • weighs 16.6 pounds. (46th percentile....IF the weight is accurate)
  • is 27 1/2 inches long (91st percentile)
  • is starting to grow hair back where it fell out before.  It's so soft and sweet!  I love rubbing his lil head! :)
  • LOVES to "help" get his bath ready....and can't wait to get in it when he sees me filling his tub!  see the pictures below of that!  :)
  • has finally figured out the Sassy seat doorway jumper!  He used to just hang there and spin around a little bit but, with a little help from mama, has figured out "hey, this thing bounces and it's FUN!"  Now he loves it and gets very excited in there!
  • has been sleeping for 10-11 hours at a time!  typically he goes to bed around 8:15 or 8:30 and sleeps (usually) until somewhere around 6:30 or 7:30!  He'll usually eat then and snuggle in bed with me for another hour or so until we get up for the day.
  • still doesn't nap very well, although I'm working on trying to get him into a better schedule of that....but he's very stubborn and fights it will everything he's got!  Usually I let him win because it's not worth him getting SO upset over...and it doesn't affect his nighttime sleeping routine.  When he's tired enough, he sleeps!  :)
  • can scoot with the best of 'em!  He's still easily making his rounds around the living room and getting where he wants to go! However, his scoot usually tends to propel him backwards!  He can't quite get the forward motion down pat just yet, but rolling generally gets him where he wants to go!  :)
  • has started rubbing his head again while nursing.  When he was tiny he would immediately put his hand up behind his head and rub his hair while nursing and when he was falling asleep.  He stopped that for a long time and just started doing it again this week...maybe because he like's his soft fuzzy hair too!  :)
  • rubs my face or hair when he's going to sleep.  I can always tell when he's trying to relax and go to sleep because his hand reaches up to my faces and starts rubbing.....er....more like grabbing and scratching, but I think he means to rub it!  :)  If my hair is down and hanging he will bat at it gently while he drifts off....it's so sweet!  Much better than the tight fistfuls he grabs when he's fully awake!
  • has gotten very vocal with various different cries and noises that mean various different things.  I can certainly tell when it's the "I'm hungry, and I'm hungry NOW" cry, versus the "I'm tired of doing this....move me to something new please" cry, versus the "I'm sooooo sleepy but I'm afraid I might miss something if I give in to it" cry.  He also makes various happy noises that are so cute as he discovers the full range of his voice!
  • generally wakes up so happy!  I love when I look at the monitor and see that he's awake but he never even made a sound to let me know.  He usually wakes up, when he's really fully rested, on his own and will look around his crib, or play with  the bumpers or roll around quietly and happily for as long as I'll leave him there.  When I go in to get him up he just griiiiiins at me and all is right with the world in that moment!  :)
  • still doesn't have any teeth that have broken through, but he's working really hard on a couple!  They don't seem to be hurting him as much as they initially did but he gnaws on things (including my fingers if he can get hold of them and slip 'em in there quick enough) really hard!  Hopefully this isn't a couple month process as we wait for them to break through.  Although, I'm in no hurry for teeth; I happen to love his little gummy grin and am in no rush to see it go!
I'm really going to have to figure out something new with the sign soon!
I love this little face!

mmmmm....my first taste of rice cereal!

I LOVE bath time so much that I can't wait to get in there....and usually I try to help mommy get the water ready!  :)
We love having daddy home to play with us on Wednesday!!

Stylin in his little sweater!  (this was Saturday...when it was rather chilly....today it's already 78 degrees and barely after 11am!)

Thanks for stopping by!
